After a bee sting and removing the stinger what’s next?
Baking soda paste was a common homemade remedy my mother used for many things from cold sores, skin tears and bee stings. At this time of year when our bee friends are out doing their THANG we may get in their way. If you’re stung, try using a simple lavender & baking soda paste after the stinger is removed.
Mix 3 drops of lavender essential oil and 1 tsp of baking soda. Add enough water to mix into a paste. Plaster the paste over the sting. Remove the paste after approximately 30 min. Reapply as needed.
Another soothing remedy is making lavender-infused frozen cloth. Wet a washcloth with water and wring out the excess. Apply 5 drops of lavender essential oil on the wet cloth, place it in a resealable bag and store it in the freezer. When you get stung, remove the frozen cloth and apply it to the area. It helps to reduce swelling and relieve pain.
